Requests for Public Information

Requests for public information can be made via this formemail, fax (817-617-3726), or by submitting a completed form (PDF) to Town Hall (1614 S Bowen Road, Pantego, TX 76013). Please be as specific as possible as to the records you are requesting, including dates of interest.

The Town of Pantego will, of course, provide all documents identified as responsive to your request. However, a governmental body must withhold certain confidential information, and can seek a ruling from the Texas Attorney General's Office to withhold other information in other circumstances. Finally, there are other agencies that you may also want to consult with.

➥ LOCATION OF PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE

8-1-1 coordinates line locates and markings for all underground infrastructure including water, wastewater (sanitary sewer), and stormwater lines maintained by the Town of Pantego. If you are requesting infrastructure maps, please be aware that water mains are assumed to be critical infrastructure, which means that documents detailing the water system and its assets are unlikely to be approved for release.

➥ VEHICULAR ACCIDENT and CRASH REPORTS

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is the custodian of crash records for the State of Texas.

➥ PUBLIC HEALTH RECORDS or CONCERNS

Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) provides health inspections and related services in the Town of Pantego, including restaurant grades.

➥ REAL PROPERTY (REAL ESTATE) RECORDS

The Tarrant County Clerk is the agency of record for all real property records (such as plats, liens, easements, rights of way, and deeds). You can view and download unofficial copies or purchase official records via mail or in person. Real property records provided by the Town of Pantego should not be relied upon to be current, complete, nor exhaustive.

➥ ENVIRONMENTAL RECORDS

When conducting an environmental study, you may also consider consulting with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and/or the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA also provides an unofficial Property Search.

➥ UTILITY CUSTOMER INFORMATION

In 2021, 87(R) HB 872 made utility customer data confidential unless a customer requests publication or release. As of June 1, 2025, none of the Town of Pantego's customers have requested that their information be made public.

The following verbiage is an expanded version of the meta description for this page and is appended here so that those who perform a text search might find the correct information more quickly. Though many of us refer to all requests for government documents as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, that is a federal law. Because Pantego is a city in Texas, the requests we receive are subject to the Public Information Act (PIA). Other states may use terms such as sunshine laws, open government, open books, open the books, open data, public data, or open records requests to describe those regulations and processes that provide for transparency in government by making governmental records and data available to the public.
