Please be specific in what you are requesting. If you are seeking a police or court record, the report/citation number is helpful but not usually necessary. Include full legal name(s) as well as potential nicknames, aliases, or former names. You can submit your DOB and/or DL# but it is not required. Please *DO NOT* submit your Social Security Number (SSN). Staff will reach out if additional information is needed.
You can provide a single date (MM/DD/YYYY) or a date range (MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY)
Certifications are sometimes requested by other agencies (e.g. for immigration or background checks). If you were not told to obtain a "certified copy", it is not likely to be necessary.
If you do not make a selection above, staff will follow the traditional route of submitting proposed redactions (if necessary) to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for their review for appropriateness under the law. Upon our receipt of your request, staff has ten (10) business days to request a decision from the OAG. Upon their receipt of our request for a decision, they are typically allotted forty-five (45) business days to issue an opinion. This time may be extended by ten (10) business days if their office deems it necessary.
