This meeting was originally scheduled for Monday, August 12, which is also "Meet the Teacher" for many area schools. Due to this and other various conflicts, it has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. to allow all of the Council and staff to be present.
Though other items may also appear on the agenda, this special session is primarily called to allow for continued discussion and development of the FY24–25 (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025) operating budget, which is expected to be considered for adoption by the Council following a Public Hearing on Monday, September 9, 2024. Adoption of the supporting ad valorem (property) tax rate is expected to be considered by the Council following a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
From July through September, multiple presentations, discussions, and public hearing(s) regarding the budget and the supporting tax rate will be held during both regular and specially-called meetings. The public is encouraged to attend all meetings of the Town Council.
