Eligibility
Full-time employees who are scheduled to work at least thirty (30) hours per week are eligible to enroll in benefit plans. If you are eligible, you will be provided with an enrollment packet during onboarding, which must be completed and returned to Human Resources within seven (7) calendar days of your hire date. If you miss the deadline, you will have to wait until the next open enrollment period (typically August 15 through September 15 with the new coverage year beginning on October 1). Newly enrolled employees' insurance benefits become active on the first day of the month immediately following their completion of thirty (30) days of continuous service.
Changing Your Elections
Once you make your benefit elections, these choices remain in effect until the next annual Open Enrollment unless you have a Qualified Status Event, which allows for certain changes during the plan year if you submit the appropriate documentation within the allowed timeframe. If all forms and supporting documentation are not received within the allowable time permitted, you will have to wait until the next annual Open Enrollment to make new elections.
Health Care Reform Compliance
Through our partnership with TML, the Town is compliant with requirements for access to affordable healthcare.
