Preventative monthly mosquito spraying is scheduled for the fourth Thursday of each month from May through September, between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Additional ground sprays are typically added when a mosquito from a nearby trap tests positive for an arbovirus.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe to CodeRED alerts regarding scheduled and emergency ground sprays to be reminded to stay inside, along with their pets, during these sprays

You can report standing water or neglected pools at townofpantego.com/311 or by calling 3-1-1.

🦟 DEET is a highly effective ingredient to look for in your insect repellent. Follow label instructions, and always wear repellent when outdoors, especially when mosquitoes are more active at dusk and dawn.

🦟 DRESS in long sleeves and pants when you're outside. For extra protection, choose light colors and spray thin clothing with repellent.

🦟 DRAIN and prevent standing water in your yard and neighborhood where mosquitoes can breed. This includes old tires, flowerpots, clogged rain gutters, wading pools, and other toys. Mosquitoes may develop in any water that is left stagnant for more than three or four days. For shallow standing water that cannot be eliminated (e.g., low spots in the yard, outdoor pet bowls, or bird baths), use mosquito dunks or add a small fountain, agitator, or recirculating device to keep the water moving.
