A mosquito in a nearby trap (on Forest Edge Drive in Arlington) has again tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). Because of this, the Town of Pantego has scheduled supplemental targeted ground spraying in the northwest portion of Town (bounded in red on the map).

These sprays will occur Tuesday, July 18, and Wednesday, July 19, sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., weather permitting. As always, it is recommended that residents and their pets stay indoors during these times.

These supplemental targeted ground sprays are intended to reduce the known virus-infected adult mosquito population as quickly as possible. The next regular monthly spraying will be next Thursday, July 27, between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m.

🦟 DRAIN: prevent, eliminate, or treat standing water in flower pots, toys, gutters, and wading pools
