Drawing to Determine Order of Names on the May 6, 2023 Ballot

The drawing to determine the order of names on the ballot will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers (1614 S Bowen Road in Pantego, Texas, 76013). Candidates and the general public are invited and encouraged to attend this drawing, but it is not required.

The filing period begins at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023; and the deadline is 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023. The City Secretary’s office is in Town Hall (1614 S Bowen Road) and office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. There is no filing fee and staff can notarize forms if you present proper identification. The deadline to withdraw from the race and have your name removed from the ballot is Friday, February 24, at 5:00 p.m.

Required candidate forms are (1) Application for a Place on the Ballot (PDF); and (2) Form CTA: Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate (PDF | CTA Instruction Guide).

NOTE: Upon receipt of your Application for a Place on the Ballot, the City Secretary is allotted five (5) days to review. If an omission or error is found after the filing deadline has passed, a new application cannot be accepted, and the original may not be valid. Candidates are urged to file as soon as practicable to allow sufficient time for review. The Application can be filed along with Form CTA.
